We Carry You With Us, Always
A short film by Gasket Studios in collaboration with University of Minnesota Physicians
We Carry You With Us Always is a visually driven short film about grief, memory, and the lasting presence people leave behind. Told without dialogue, it uses image, pacing, performance, and original music to carry the emotional arc.
Created in close collaboration with University of Minnesota Physicians, the film gave us the opportunity to bring every part of our craft to the table — shaping something human, cinematic, and emotionally true.
A major part of the film’s emotional language came through its music. The original score was composed by Matt Pusti, arranged by Jordan Lehning, and performed by an extraordinary group of musicians from the Minnesota Orchestra and Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, including Steven Copes, Anthony Ross, Susie Park, Rebecca Albers, Steve Kimball, and Zachary Cohen. Recorded in St. Paul at the Maud Moon Weyerhaeuser Studio at Minnesota Public Radio, the session was supported by Steve Griffith, Broadcast Coordinator, and Eric Xu Romani, Scoring Engineer and Sound Mixer. Their contributions gave the film a musical voice that carries much of its emotional weight.
